DESCRIPTION

Garage Publishing Department is launching a news series of meetings with readers through the book club Garage on Paper.

The club will be a space for the exchange of opinions about books published by Garage. Participants can share their experience of reading and look anew at texts already read. They will also get to know the Garage publishing team and discover more about the process of producing a book: working with authors, the difference between scientific and stylistic editing, book design, and much more.

The first season of the club will explore books in the series GARAGE.txt, which comprises texts on the history and theory of art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including new media, and decolonial and gender research. GARAGE.txt supports the development of critical thinking in the context of the humanities, and the book club is its logical continuation. Each month participants will discuss one book from the series together with a moderator who will direct the conversation but not limit it.

GARAGE.txt supports academic research across a wide range of subjects in the humanities. It offers funding for new projects and opportunities to publish completed manuscripts and research projects by authors of any nationality writing in Russian.

HOW TO TAKE PART

Meetings will take place in the West Gallery at Garage.
The maximum number of participants is 15.

Free admission with advance registration.
Participants can buy the books to be discussed themselves or read them in Garage Library.
