Visitor Policies

You can only visit the Museum with a QR code and ID.

A QR code is provided to the following groups of people:

  • those inoculated with the second component of a vaccine or a single-component vaccine registered in the Russian Federation;
  • those who have had COVID-19 within the last 6 months;
  • or anyone with a negative PCR test, which is valid for 3 days.

    • from the reception desk or information terminal at city polyclinics;
    • via your electronic medical record;
    • via the EMIAS.INFO mobile app (available from the AppStore and Google Play);

    • via the Gosuslugi. Stop Coronavirus mobile app (available from the AppStore and Google Play).
      • Every visitor to the Museum who is 18 or over must present a QR code. Visitors under 18 do not need a QR code, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a QR code. A birth certificate or an act of naming a guardian or trustee issued by the guardianship bodies is considered proof of parenthood or guardianship respectively.

          1. Entry to exhibitions is only possible with a timed ticket. All discounted ticket categories are still available. Visitors can only enter the exhibition space during the time interval indicated on their ticket (for example, from 11:00 to 11:30). The number of visitors permitted in each Museum space at any one time is limited.

          2. Tickets are on available online. We recommend purchasing in advance.

          3. If you change your mind (including on the day of your planned visit), you can return the ticket and get a full refund.

          4. Masks must be worn in the Museum. We also recommend wearing gloves.

          5. We ask visitors to observe a distance of 1.5 meters. There are floor markings at the entrance, by the information desk, at the central staircase, and in the bookshop.

          6. GARAGE cardholders, ICOM, CIMAM, and Sotheby’s Preferred members, JTI Culture Card, and visitors with disabilities with one carer get priority entrance to exhibitions.

          7. Visitors with discounted tickets must produce proof of eligibility at the exhibition entrance. Without it the ticket will be invalid:

        • university students: student card, ISIC card, Moscow card;
        • children: letter from school, Moscow card, passport;
        • seniors: pension ID, social card, passport;
        • visitors with disabilities: disability ID, social card;
        • large families: large family ID, social card;
        • press: press card.
          • While visiting the Museum, please refrain from:

            • Smoking anywhere in the museum
            • Touching or resting on works of art and other objects
            • Bringing pets or other animals into the museum
            • Bringing luggage or other similar large bags into the museum
            • Entering the exhibition space while wearing coats, jackets and other outerwear
            • Carrying weapons of any kind into the Museum, including pneumatic rifles and aerosols, as well as fireworks and other explosives
            • Consuming food or drinks in the exhibition space
            • Entering the Museum with bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, or other similar objects
            • Talking on mobile phones if not permitted in the exhibition space

            Visitors with children:

            • There is a baby changing table in the bathroom on the 1st floor (to the left of the bar)
