Garage invites deaf and hard of hearing visitors on free tours of autumn exhibitions in Russian Sign Language.
This season Garage visitors coming on Russian Sign Language tours can see two international group shows. The Fabric of Felicity will take them on a journey along modern-day "silk roads" with forty artists who explore clothes outside the context of the fashion industry. bauhaus imaginista. Moving Away: The Internationalist Architect tracks the ideas of the Bauhaus school as transmitted by its designers and architects into diverse cultural and political contexts across the world.
During the tour, visitors can also see the solo exhibition of Belgian artist Marcel Broodthaers Poetry and Images that features some of his key works including objects, films, installations, and sections of his project Museum of Modern Art, Department of Eagles (1968).
In Garage Square, Mexican artist Damián Ortega will present his large-scale installation The Modern GardenThe Modern Garden. Over thirty sculptures of company logos made of plywood, concrete or metal invite visitors to think about the role of sculpture in a public space. Inside the Museum, visitors will find the 6th Garage Atrium Commission, Anri Sala’s sound installation The Last Resort that consists of thirty-six snare drums reproducing a work by Mozart to a tempo based on weather conditions.
