As it is
This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition “as it is”, helded at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, from 28 July to 10 September, 2000. Curated by Jonathan Watkins and Claire Doherty, the exhibition explored the concept of the “soft city"-the fluid, impressionistic, and infrastructure‑driven nature of urban spaces. It featured a diverse range of on‑site and off‑site installations, soundscapes, performances, and video art, with many works using the city of Birmingham as their direct inspiration.
