Pekka Niskanen is a media artist, video- and filmmaker who studied visual communication in the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and media art in Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. His videos and films have been exhibited worldwide, including the White Box Gallery in New York in 2004 and Galleria Hippolyte in Helsinki in 2014.

In 2012, Garage Center for Contemporary Culture acquired the archive of Art Projects Foundation, which became the core of its own archive collection. In 2014, the Center became Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and its archive became a museum collection. The collection has inherited the structure of the Art Projects Foundation archive and contains documents on Russian contemporary artists and art events, press cuttings, press releases, exhibition booklets, invitations, programs, and posters.
