Lecture and workshop: Kinetic and Op Art: The World of Movement and Optical Illusions
Op artists were looking for ways to convey the illusion of depth, volume, and movement on the flat surface of a canvas. Garage teachers will clarify the phenomenon of optical illusions and the main laws of visual perception as a mechanism, and will explain why static objects can move and change when we look at them. During the workshop the participants will test how optical illusions work in reality and will be invited to create an art object of their own.
