For the sixth year running, Garage Screen is a partner of the shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival.
This year in Garage Auditorium there will be premieres from the international competition and the first screenings of films from the national shnit competition Made in Russia, as well as meetings with directors.
Viewers will see the best short films from across the world. The program includes participants and award winners from the Cannes International Film Festival (Sideral, director Carlos Segundo), the Berlin International Film festival (Haulout, directors Evgenia Arbugaeva and Maxim Arbugaev), the International Film Festival Rotterdam (Last Days of Summer, director Stenzin Tankong), and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (Flounder, directors David and Sam Cutler-Kreutz).
The national competition program will give a comprehensive idea of the development of Russian contemporary short film. It includes animation, experimental cinema, auteur and genre works. The films explore various themes, from overcoming trauma (Ma, director Valentina Besolova) to attempts by the new generation to find their place in a changing reality (I Have to Tell You Something, director Eugen Marian).
