Documentary film director and stringer Maura Axelrod who used to film military disputes, turned to disputes in contemporary art. Her film Maurizio Cattelan: Be Right Back premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. It tells the story of an Italian artist who shook the art world. The film reveals the details of a huge and controversial exhibition by Cattelan at the Guggenheim Museum, New York. Curators, collectors, ex-girlfriends are trying to help the viewers to solve the Cattelan mystery. He is a flamboyant successor of Duchamp who made Hitler pray on his knees and the Pope fall along with a meteorite. Cattelan is one of the most expensive contemporary artists, a prankster, who at the dawn of his career closed the gallery showcasing his first personal exhibition and left the note ‘Be right back’.
