The public program is split into two parts, reflecting the structure of the exhibition and its aim to introduce the audience to contemporary perspectives on Ilya Kabakov and Victor Pivovarov’s work in book illustration.
The variety of formats in the program offers visitors an opportunity to explore the exhibition at their own pace.
Lectures by art historians Tamara Vekhova and Ekaterina Lazareva will look into the context and history of the development of Kabakov and Pivovarov’s methods and the connections between their work in publishing houses and their independent art. They will also suggest various trajectories for traveling the landscapes of Soviet book illustration.
During the practical meetings, participants will be invited to make their own graphic or craft works on various topics.
