DESCRIPTION

Art Essentials is a new joint project of the Thames & Hudson publishing house and A+A imprint, a series of illustrated handbooks on the history of art and the art world.

The Russian release of the first two books—Looking at Pictures and Modern Art—coincides with the world launch of the series, which is set to tell the history of ideas, categories, and art movements that have informed contemporary culture in a clear and easy way. Participants of this event will discuss which formats are most convenient for the general public, and what kind of books will satisfy museum regulars, book lovers, and experienced art viewers.
