This sensual, erotic drama about love, jealousy, and fidelity is a rare contemporary Russian film openly exploring sexuality and its limits. The picture is featured in the competition program of the 30th Kinotavr Film Festival.
Lena (Evgeniya Gromova) and Sergey (Alexander Pal) are a young couple. She is an obstetrician-gynecologist, and he is a theatrical actor. Both feel that their love is slipping into a routine. He doesn’t see it as anything fatal, however, dealing calmly with the alienation that has occurred between them. Suspecting him of cheating, meanwhile, she decides to take a radical step that will completely change her self-perception.
Already in her debut coming of age drama Name Me (2014), Nigina Sayfullaeva revealed herself as an author talented enough to speak openly and honestly about sexuality and physicality—things that remain veiled in contemporary Russian cinema. Integrity meanwhile entirely focuses on sexuality and its limits which everyone sets for themselves. The film offers a novel, in Russian cinema, look at gender roles, the battle of the sexes and female sensuality. The world premiere took place at the 30th Kinotavr Film Festival. At Garage Screen, the movie will be presented by its director, Nigina Sayfullaeva.
