Adapted tours of the exhibition Assuming Distance: Speculations, Fakes, and Predictions in the Age of the Coronacene

DESCRIPTION

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art invites visitors with mental disabilities to join adapted guided tours of the show Assuming Distance: Speculations, Fakes, and Predictions in the Age of the Coronacene.

Garage curators conceived the exhibition in spring 2020, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. A competition was announced for Russian artists, with thirty-three projects eventually selected. Participants of these guided tours will discuss fantasies and forecasts invoked by the unusual reality that humanity faced during the lockdown.

The tour will be followed by a masterclass, where participants will have the opportunity to create an artwork based on the works they saw at the show.
