“Accessibility and Visibility: How Global Brands Support the Arts”. A lecture by Shu Hung

DESCRIPTION

UNIQLO's Global Creative Director Shu Hung will share her experience of partner relationships with various organizations aimed at supporting art, local practitioners, and self-expression globally.

UNIQLO places creativity and imagination at the heart of everything they do. Their commitment to art is long-term and began with the support of emerging artists through their first T-shirt design competition in 2005. This has since deepened through relationships that the brand cultivates with artists and institutions all over the world. UNIQLO believes that life is art and that artists’ ideas and creations can enhance and improve our daily lives.

During the lecture Shu Hung will speak about providing access to art, about work with emerging and established artists, and about partnering with institutions to contribute to local communities and celebrating artists and self-expression.
