Born in Tashkent. Saodat Ismailova is a filmmaker and an artist.
She studied at Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture and Le Fresnoy National Studio for Contemporary Arts (Tourcoing, France). Her films and video installations have been shown at the Central Asian Pavilion, 5th Venice Biennale (2013), as well as at film festivals in Berlin, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, and Centre Pompidou (Paris). Her stage works have been shown at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (New York), Musée du quai Branly (Paris), and other spaces across the world. She lives and works in Paris and Tashkent.
