Gilbert & George
This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition “Gilbert & George” which held in Ludwig Museum, Budapest, from July 8 to September 24, 2017. The main theme of a couple of artists working together for fifty years is a modern urban existence. The work of Gilbert and George always focuses on artists as “living sculptures.” With their elegant appearance they ridicule the aristocracy, while at the expense of taboos and art conventions they communicate their current social phenomena in their works. Their life and their art are not divided; their provocative and shocking work is characterized by intense communication with the audience.
