Marquet: L'Afrique du Nord. Catalogue de l'oeuvre peint
This catalog is the first work devoted to the totality of the artist’s work. It comprises three thematic volumes, of which “Marquet and Africa” forms the first part. A great lover of travels, the painter first discovers Morocco and Tangier during two explorations in 1911 and 1913 before embarking for Algiers. Tunisia, it returns every year; his paintings reflect, as time goes by, his preoccupations and his discoveries. This work presents seven hundred and forty-one paintings with, for each, a descriptive notice, a technical sheet and a commentary.
