The 5th book in GARAGE.txt series is a dialogue between two key representatives of Moscow Conceptualism: Andrei Monastyrsky and Victor Agamov-Tupitsyn.

The book by philosopher and poet Victor Agamov-Tupitsyn is based on his correspondence with poet, artist, the main theorist of Moscow Conceptualism and the founder of Collective Actions Andrei Monastyrsky, whom he met in 1969. Along with Collective Actions and their projects, the book looks into the influence of Monastyrsky and his circle on the art scene in Moscow and beyond. It features theoretical writings and poetry by Andrei Monastyrsky and Victor Agamov-Tupitsyn, as well as their analysis of various art and socio-political events that took place at the time of their correspondence.

Eternity Is Endless is illustrated with photographs and collages from the archives of Victor Agamov-Tupitsyn and Margarita Masterkova-Typitsyna, and Andrei Monastyrsky and Collective Actions. A large part of the materials included in the book are published for the first time.

Author

Victor Agamov-Tupitsyn (b. 1945) is a philosopher, critic and cultural theorist based between Paris and New York City. He graduated in Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1965 and got his PhD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1976. In 1975 he moved to the USA following his involvement in the underground Bulldozer Exhibition (1974) broken up by the Soviet authorities. He is currently an Emeritus Professor at Pace University in Westchester, USA. In 1989, he edited the Russian edition of the journal Flash Art and in 2002 the collection of theoretical and philosophical writings Post-Soviet Russia published by Third Text. He has contributed to a selection of international periodicals, including Artforum, Art in America, Flash Art International, Parkett, Texte zur Kunst, Third Text), Cabinet, Mesto Pechati, Logos and Moscow Art Magazine. He is the author of 24 books on contemporary art and philosophy.
