Ed van der Elsken: De Verliefde Camera
Ed van der Elsken (1925–1990) was an innovative, quirky street photographer and maker of documentary films. He is one of the most important Dutch photographers of the twentieth century and went in search of cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Tokyo for self -conscious people, beautiful girls and contrary youth. His photos are strong in shape, rooted in their time and at the same time timeless.
This book is published in conjuction with the exhibition 'Ed van der Elsken — De Verliefde Camera' held at Stedelijk Museum from 4 February till 21 May 2017.
