The Garage Screen team has been distributing films since 2019. Distribution is focused on the latest films and the history of cinema in dialogue with contemporary art and culture.
At the center of the distribution program are landmark films that relate to the artistic processes of today. The first film distributed by Garage was Anton Zhelnov’s Poor Folk. Kabakovs, which explores the life and work of two key figures in Russian contemporary art, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov.
In 2022, Garage Screen will organize a series of special screenings of the documentary The Everything Show by Maxim Ishchenko, about another Russian artist, Ivan Gorshkov, who is a representative of the «Voronezh wave." Special screenings will take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Ufa, and Voronezh.
