DESCRIPTION

This fall, sommelier Anton Obrezchikov will lead thematic wine tastings at Garage Café.

He has put together a series of tastings exploring various phenomena in Russian winemaking. Once every two weeks, guests can try new thematic sets, based on which Anton will explain the features of white, rosé, and sparkling wines from Russian producers, how various wines are created from the same type of grape, and what degree of success Russian winemakers have had in producing full-bodied reds.

Contemporary Russian winemaking is still at the development stage. In order to become recognizable on a restaurant wine list or on the shelf in a store, Russian wine needs to be unique, to differ from other countries’ wines. What might make it unique?
