Warm-Ups as an Art: A cycle of masterclasses with deaf performer Andrey Dragunov

14–21 May 2020

Self-Isolation and the transfer of events to the digital space have inspired Garage’s department of inclusive programs to launch online dance classes.

Deaf dancer and actor Andrey Dragunov will run three classes, each with its own theme and in which anyone can take part from any corner of their flat and in any clothes. Participants will be introduced to practices that will allow them to get a better understanding of themselves and their bodies and learn to speak the visual language that combines elements of performance and dance.

Andrey Dragunov (b. 1991, Saint Petersburg) is a deaf dancer and performer. He has taken part in Tansty na TNT dance show on the Russian television as member of the 158crew and illuminatishow teams. He holds a silver medal from the European hip-hop championships.

The class allows for 20 participants max.

Participation is free with advance registration.

Classes are run in Russian Sign Language and interpreted into spoken Russian.

Registered participants will get a Zoom link via email.
