In June 2018 Garage patrons traveled to the opening of Art Basel.
Held in Swiss Basel since 1970, Art Basel is the world’s biggest art fair bringing together the world’s leading galleries and currently also has shows in Miami Beach and Hong Kong. In the first days after opening, the exhibition is open exclusively to collectors, curators, artists, and museum directors. Garage patrons visited Messe Basel designed by Herzog & De Meuron, accompanied by Garage’s curators Anastasia Mityushina and Snejana Krasteva.
They also visited Fondation Beyeler to see its great collection of European modernist art in a 1997 building designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano and Kunstbetrieb, a contemporary art production studio that produced the sculptures of the wolf and the girl for Andro Wekua’s installation Untitled exhibited at Garage in Spring 2018.
Garage’s co-founder Daria Zhukova hosted patrons at a cocktail reception at Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois to celebrate the Museum’s 10th anniversary.
