19–22 September 2019

DESCRIPTION

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art presented selections from The Coming World: Ecology as the New Politics 2030–2100 at EXPO CHICAGO, the International Exposition of Contemporary and Modern Art, which took place September 19–22 at the Navy Pier Festival Hall. The Garage booth featured works by the artists Kim Abeles, Dan Perjovschi, Alexander Obrazumov, and Denis Sinyakov.

On September 21, NRDC and Garage hosted “NO PLAN(ET): Ecology as the New Politics 2030–2100,” a panel discussion about the climate crisis and how art is a powerful tool to initiate dialogue, inspire involvement, and increase awareness. Part of the EXPO CHICAGO Dialogues program, the panel’s speakers included Kim Abeles, Garage curator Ekaterina Lazareva, and Andrew Wetzler, Nature Program director at NRDC.

The Coming World: Ecology as the New Politics 2030–2100 and the Garage booth at EXPO CHICAGO are curated by Snejana Krasteva and Ekaterina Lazareva, Garage curators.
