ABOUT
THE TEACHER

 
Alexey Geld

(b. 2001, Novosibirsk) is an artist, illustrator, and teacher. He studied at Novosibirsk State Academy of Architecture and Fine Arts and has been a student at the British Higher School of Art and Design (Moscow) since 2023. He has been teaching since 2020, and has worked at Kontur Studio of Art and Architecture, run Fab.8 sketching studio, and collaborated with the project Architects’ Society. He has shown his work in several exhibitions at Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art.

Heritage: A Collage With Drawn Elements

We will explore the Narkomfin Building and the historical elements that were preserved during its reconstruction.

Alexey Geld will introduce participants to the technique of collage with drawn elements, which allows you to insert fragments of memory into the drawing. Participants will search the building for interesting textures and show how they work in a renovated interior in their drawings.

Light, Shadow

This class will focus on light and the way it changes interior and exterior spaces. Alexey Geld will explain how to draw volume using light and shadow. Participants will use large fills to quickly organize elements on the sheet and understand how light interacts with shapes to create volume.

  • a brush pen with diluted ink
  • soft pastels (sauce, charcoal)
  • a soft black pencil or a liner
