Addressing a variety of themes, such as labor, family, low social status, attitude to authority and self searching at the time when Chinese economy goes through radical changes, Diao Yi'nan’s debut picture discloses everyday life in a provincial town.

A young man tries on a police uniform left at the family laundrette. A symbol of power, discipline and order, the uniform becomes his key to a new social role and a different life.
