Screening: The Incomparable Rose Hartman

DESCRIPTION

You might not know her name, but you have definitely seen her photographs. The film tells the story of the photographer who took some of the legendary shots of Studio 54.

Studio 54 was where Rose Hartman started her photographer’s career: captured in her early photographs are fashion designers, artists, and the elite of the New York nightlife of the time, including Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Woody Allen, Andy Warhol, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and many other stars of the era. Hartman was among the key photographers to have documented the secret—and often scandalous—life of the fashion industry and showbiz during the legendary 1970s and 1980s.
