One of the most spectacular sci-fi pictures of the past decade, Interstellar (2014) is a story about the love of one’s family that transcends time and space and survives the death of planet Earth.
As an unprecedented drought threatens humanity’s survival on Earth, people set out to search for a new home on a different planet. The discovery of wormholes allows a group of researchers and astronauts to travel to distant galaxies in hope that one of their planets will be livable.
Interstellar won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and received several nominations for a Golden Globe, including for the Best Original Score. Warmly received by the critics, it was also successful at the box office, making a worldwide total of $675 million.
