Talks, discussions, and other events within the public program suggest analyzing the various aspects of “non-realization” from the viewpoint of curators, artists, and cultural institutions.
All events within the public program accompanying the show Present Continuous approach the theme of cancellations and “non-implementation.” Why do some plans end up unrealized? Artists, researchers, and curators will discuss how economic factors, political censorship as well as various institutional imperfections lead to the abolition of ideas and plans, thereby defining our current reality; they will examine what it means to experience cancellations in work and creative practice while also touching on the role of women’s art within the current institutional system in Russia.
Free guided tours introducing the history of the Museum’s collection and its role in preparing the ongoing show will run in Garage Archive.
