In June Garage published the book Béla Tarr, the Time After, a retrospective study of the work of the Hungarian filmmaker and a manifesto for Jacques Rancière’s theory of film.
The book’s academic editor Inna Kushnaryova, filmmaker Alexander Zolotukhin and film critic Sergey Dyoshin will discuss the Béla Tarr’s oeuvre, the way his work has influenced contemporary Russian filmmakers, his investigation of crumbling communist ideals, and the role that time plays in his method.
