Dachra, Tunisia’s first ever horror film by first-time director Abdelhamid Bouchnak, looks at the country’s little-known remote areas. Drawing on local folklore and unresolved cultural issues, Bouchnak uses horror devices and a unique cultural setting to develop his unique style and tell an extraordinary story.

Agathe is 39 and desperately wants to have a baby. She finds her ex, Marc-Antoine, a DJ in a nightclub in Marseille, but as she is about to try and convince him to get back together, the city is attacked by rustling plastic bags of all colours.
