Two films from the program Wild Nights. A Festival of Art Horror Films are featured in this screening. In Schächer, a mysterious guest arrives at the house of an elderly couple living in the mountains. It is horror mixed with a love story by one of the most promising new directors from Switzerland. The debut feature by director and screenwriter Owen Long, Seeds, is a dark tale about repressed fantasies that falls somewhere between The Shining and Lolita: touching on topics that remain taboo, the film discusses issues that are often swept under the carpet.

A mysterious guest arrives to the house of an elderly couple living in the mountains in a horror mixed with a love story by one of the most promising new directors from Switzerland.
Written and directed by Flurin Giger and with his brother Silvan Giger as producer and director of cinematography, the film can be summed up by a quote from the Revelation of John: “Remember, then, what you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know the hour when I will come upon you.”
The picture has been screened in Cannes (2018), Ghent, Bilbao, Concorto and at Max Ophüls Film Festival, and nominated for the Swiss Film Award.
