Garage announces an open call for mediators who wish to work at the Museum from June to December 2024.
Art mediation is an experimental (de)educational practice based on a dialogue between museum visitors and mediators. A mediator talks to visitors, asks critical questions, and is actively interested in culture and contemporary art.
In 2023, Garage ran an art mediation program which involved training 11 mediators who then took part in the Museum’s projects. Over 550 visitors attended mediation program events.
To become a Garage Mediator, candidates need to fill out a form, pass an interview, and complete a training program. Training will take place in April and May. Participants will attend meetings with Garage staff and artists and lectures and seminars on contemporary art and mediation techniques. Training sessions will take place in the evening during the week and at weekends.
