DESCRIPTION

Our first offsite project, a giant video installation entitled Moscow on the Move on top of the city’s Mosenergo building opposite the Kremlin, showcased work by leading Russian and international artists 24 hours a day.

Featured artists included AES+F, Artavazd Peleshan, Doug Aitken, Fischli/Weiss, Douglas Gordon, Alexander Kluge, Sarah Morris, Pipilotti Rist, Cao Fei, Yang FuDong, Philippe Parreno, and Agnes Varda. The works were seen not just by passers-by and those in cars, but also from buildings across the city.

The project was presented in collaboration with London’s Serpentine Gallery and curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Co-Director of Exhibitions and Programmes and Director of International Projects at the Serpentine. It was developed from a project in Seoul in 2000, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist.
