Meeting with Anatoly Osmolovsky

DESCRIPTION

The first discussion in the series is with artist Anatoly Osmolovsky, an artist who deliberately avoids developing a recognizable style or artistic strategy.

Anatoly Osmolovsky is an artist, curator, theorist. One of the leaders of the 1990s’ radical artists, he initiated the famous performance E.T.I. - Text (D**k on Red Square) 1991. Osmolovsky is a radical left theorist and is known for a number of provocative performances. After announcing the advent of the era of “non-spectacular art” in the early 2000s, he turned to making visually elaborate sculptures towards the end of the decade. Osmolovsky is a recipient of the Kandinsky Prize (2009) and rector of BAZA Institute.

Audience members can preview the presentation and are invited to participate directly in the discussion.
