Lecture cycle Adventurous art history

Date

Place

Garage Auditorium

DESCRIPTION

As a part of their strategic partnership, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and Ingosstrakh are launching an educational program consisting of a series of lectures which will allow visitors to gain a unique insight into interesting cases and affairs in the art world—thefts and abductions, forgeries of masterpieces, destruction for ideological or vandalism purposes.

Adventurous art history is a story in three parts about notorious frauds: fakes, hoaxes, thefts, and other incidents that occurred with works of art in the last two centuries—everything that viewers, collectors, and swindlers find so interesting.

ABOUT THE LECTURER

Viktoria Anisimova – art historian, art critic, antique consultant, author of articles on Italian Renaissance art, the antique market, and collecting; art director at ART V’U gallery.
