How China went from a factory of fakes to one of the leading innovators in design.
Contemporary Chinese design is the story of a rapid shift, from Made in China to Designed in China. In the past two decades China has become not only the largest manufacturer of goods but also an active participant in the international design dialogue. Maria Savostyanova will discuss how young Chinese designers and architects work with local identity and respond to new meanings emerging in the context of rapid urbanization and digitalization.
