DESCRIPTION

Within the project “Did you have a good time?" Vremena Goda Café since 1968 will be a discussion during which participants will talk about what utopia is and find utopian ideas of a place in different types of art and creativity.

The discussion will be attended by senior curator of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art  Ekaterina Inozemtseva, media director of the Yandex. Zen Daniel Trabun and Ph.D. in Philosophy, head of the aesthetics sector of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences Elena Petrovskaya. Discussion will be moderated by Alexander Ostrogorsky and Vsevolod Korshunov.

We are living in a world of fast-paced and unpredictable change, where nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. It seems that expert predictions and forecasts have hijacked the future from imagination. Do we still need utopias and dystopias as we knew them in the twentieth century? Are architecture and cinema still able to express our dreams of the future? Which mediums accumulate visions of the future today and who creates those visions? Does "cinetecture" have a future, even if it has passed its golden age?
