Sadler’s Wells artistic director and chief executive Alistair Spalding shares his experience of leading the internationally renowned dance house and examines how culture plays a vital role in social and economic growth.
In this talk, Spalding reflects on his thirty-year experience of curating dance, first as a programmer and then as a the leader of Sadler’s Wells. He discusses the civic role of arts organizations as agencies providing a platform for understanding and debate, and how dance reflects and responds to socio-economic changes.
Alistair Spalding will address the question of how the art form responds to socio-economic changes and its key role played in reflection of these rapid developments.
