Guided tour and architectural workshop: What Garage Will Be Like

Date

Schedule

14:00 and 16:00 (2 sessions)

Place

Garage Kids' Studio

DESCRIPTION

The building where Garage is currently located was not always a museum. Workshop participants will be able to learn its history, study traces of the past and even create a model of the future.

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art’s building once housed the huge Four Seasons restaurant erected in the late 1960s. But what will happen to this building in fifty years is anyone’s guess. What if the Museum itself moves into a huge flying saucer and hovers over the park—or will it look completely different while remaining in the same place? Together with the guide, participants in the workshop will explore the historical appearance of the construction and find traces of present time within it, before, under the guidance of an architect, creating their own models that combine the past, present, and future of Garage.
