Fashion historian Ekaterina Kulinicheva will reveal the ways in which football and fashion are intertwined.

Not only is football ‘the game of millions’ and one of the most popular spectacles worldwide, but also an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, photographers, designers, and stylists. What is it that attracts the attention of the creative towards football? What role do hairstyles and shoes play in the football of today? Why do footballers so frequently become fashion icons? What influence has the style of British football fans had on fashion history? What discussion did the female football strip provoke? During the lecture Ekaterina Kulinicheva will give answers to these and many other questions.

ABOUT THE LECTURER

Ekaterina Kulinichevais a journalist and art historian focusing on the interrelations between sport and fashion. She graduated from Russian university of people's friendship, Stroganovka and RSUH with a master's degree in the history and theory of fashion. Kulinicheva worked as a sport columnist at Sport-Express, Gazeta.ru,Snob, Meduza, Afisha, Esquire. She is a permanent contributor for the research-based journal Fashion Theory.
