In 2015, Documentary Film Center (DFC) and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art continue their collaboration on the Exhibition on Screen project.

The viewer gets a chance to see how an exhibition is installed, listen to museum specialists and witness the transformation of a curator’s idea into an exhibition project.

The third film in the program, Phil Grabsky’s Matisse, will be screened on March, 7 at 19:00. The documentary looks into the final and perhaps the most intriguing chapter in the career of Henri Matisse, where colored paper became his clay, and scissors became his chisel for carving “sculptures on canvas,” which came to be known as his cut-outs. Arranging the cut paper into various compositions,

Along with a virtual tour of the exhibition galleries, the film features interviews with its curators, the heads of Tate Modern and the New York MoMA, and two performances inspired by the cut-outs.
