In Johannes Nyholm’s psychological horror, a couple grieving after the loss of a child find themselves stuck in a time loop with a group of murderous circus people. The film has been screened at the Sundance and Rotterdam film festivals.
Three years after a sudden death of their daughter during a holiday, bereaved parents Elin and Tobias decide to mend their stalling relationship by going on a camping trip but find themselves stuck in a time loop and murdered again and again by a group of evil and grotesque characters.
In his second feature, Swedish director and animator Johannes Nyholm mixes realism with fantasy and dreams. Described by critics as a mixture of A Nightmare on Elm Streetand Groundhog Dayif they were shot by David Lynch, the film is primarily a fable about the need to overcome emotional detachment, building on the tradition of Swedish cinema.
