Tennis player John McEnroe was the WTA’s number one ranked player from 1982 to 1985 and is remembered for his outstanding talent and explosive temperament. 16mm tapes that were found in the French sports archive contained the recordings of his intimidating serves and clever moves and became the starting point for this unusual film-essay about the intersection of tennis and film theory. Its world premiere was held at the 68th Berlin Film Festival.
