DESCRIPTION

Several drudges are organizing a guerrilla campaign against the almighty and faceless Internet, on which their minimum wages, personal life, and well-being depend. An enchanting, absurd comedy about the pitfalls and challenges of the digital age from the French punk duo of Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern.

Lonely widower Bertrand tries to protect his daughter from cyberbullying and finds an escape in telephone conversations with invisible marketer Miranda, who calls in an attempt to sell her product. Single mother Marie posts videos of her cat, hoping to earn money to pay off a guy who blackmails her with threats to leak an intimate video of her. Christine is so addicted to watching TV shows that she lost her job and became a driver in an Internet taxi firm: her status now depends completely on user ratings.

Delete History is a new comedy by the French duo Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern, renowned for their surreal portraits of marginal, non-bourgeois France, inhabited by eccentric proletarians, the extravagant unemployed, and just weirdos with some punk and leftist fervor. Now their characters are teaming up to free themselves from the world wide web, which deprives people of privacy, affects their self-esteem, steals time and money. The movie received a special jury prize at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival.
