Family Day as part of Ingosstrakh Art Season

DESCRIPTION

On July 8, Family Day, Ingosstrakh and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art invite you to take part in an exciting program for children and adults.

From 12:00 to 20:00, on Garage Square—in front of the Museum—all are welcome to get involved in Urs Fischer’s YES project, where you can create a sculpture from unfired clay which will remain on display all summer. Younger family members can visit the Create Your Own Museum children’s workshops, which take place in Garage Atrium. From 17:00 to 20:00 children can learn what a museum is, what kinds of museums exist, what they are made up of, and who works there. All participants are invited to create their own museum and to watch an educational animated film at Garage Auditorium. Admission is free, but registration is required.

Garage’s summer season exhibitions will be open all day: Urs Fischer’s Small Axe; Garage, Archived; and the new exhibition Co-thinkers. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Museum information desk. For the whole summer, every 200th visitor receives a free ticket courtesy of Ingosstrakh.

At 21:00, in Garage Auditorium, you can watch a documentary film about Eva Hesse, the German-born American artist who was an important figure in New York art of the 1960s. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Museum information desk.

Every visitor who registers for an event on Family Day and buys a ticket for the film screening will receive a gift courtesy of Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and Ingosstrakh.

This event is part of Ingosstrakh Art Season.
