Description

On April 1 several days before the official Russian premiere, Alexander Mitta (Equipage; Burn, Burn, My Star) will personally present his feature film CHAGALL-MALEVITCH at Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture.

As the gales of revolution extinguish Vitebsk's quiet provincial lifestyle, as the last become first and the first last, only extraordinary faith and absolute devotion to her husband allow Bella Chagall to save her brilliant husband Marc. The story of Bella's selfless love is told against the backdrop of the historic rivalry between Chagall and his genius antipode, Kazimir Malevich, as well as another, more desperate, clash - the struggle for Bella's heart between Chagall and Naum, a childhood friend turned red commissar.
