This public talk with the renowned Flemish author of comics and illustrator Brecht Evens will focus on how to make comics today, as well the unique culture of graphic novels comprised of both words and images.

The Guardian has named him one of the most striking talents representing the Belgian school of illustration since the author of the Tin Tin series Hergé.

This event is organized with the support from the Flanders Literature foundation.

ABOUT THE LECTURER

Brecht Evens is a Flemish illustrator whose books have received numerous awards, including the prize of the Angoulême International Comics Festival (France). The Guardian has named him one of the most striking talents representing the Belgian school of illustration since the author of the Tin Tin series Hergé.
