Mstera is a small village in Vladimirskaya Oblast. After the revolution, an astonishing Village Academy appeared here, the story of which paradoxically involved icon painting, local handicrafts, and academic and avant-garde art.

In the Museum Auditorium, author Mikhail Biryukov will talk about how such different artists as Olga Rozanova, Alexander Rodchenko, and Fedor Modorov were involved in the birth of this educational institution; how students and teachers created a «communist monastery» and what life was like in the commune; and what remains of the Mstera Free Workshops and why you should visit right now.

On September 20, Garage Shop is offering 10% discount on Mstera’s Ark.
