Between the Past and Color: A Meeting with Katya Ryblova

Date

Schedule

19:30–21:00

Place

Communal Block, Narkomfin Building

DESCRIPTION

Artist Katya Ryblova will talk about her project Color Transition at the Narkomfin Building and discuss associative synesthesia as a creative method.

The project Color Transition launches the exhibition series Supporting Structure at the Narkomfin Building. The artist was inspired by one of the building’s unique features, the color scheme of the interiors, and she has applied her personal methodology of revealing and representing the interconnection between color, light, and space. Having studied the ideas of the authors of the original color scheme for the Narkomfin Building—Bauhaus professor Hinnerk Scheper, his student Erich Borchert, and architect Moisei Ginzburg—Katya proposed her own reading of the shades of this historic palette.

The meeting will be led by Elmira Minkin, curator of the project Supporting Structure.
