Architectural walks for visitors with intellectual disabilities

Schedule

June 1–20, August 1–September 15

Place

Gorky Park

DESCRIPTION

Throughout the summer, visitors with intellectual disabilities are invited to join free guided tours around Garage's buildings located in Gorky Park and known for their historical value.

During these specially adapted excursions, visitors with intellectual disabilities will be introduced to a number of unique sites featuring architecture of the Soviet avant-garde and Modernism. The participants, accompanied by a guide, will visit Garage's  permanent home—an excellent example of Soviet Modernism brought back to life by the world-famous architect Rem Koolhaas. They will also look at the Garage Education Center building and tour the Museum’s office, built in 1893 and reconstructed by Alexey Shchusev thirty years later.

How to take part

Tours are free for visitors with intellectual disabilities and one carer (with proof of disability).

To take part, please call us +7 (968) 998-67-23 or e-mail at openmuseum@garagemca.org at least 7 days in advance of the planned visit.
